This is a great website I found in Google. This website can help you a lot on working on your Garden design. When you open the website, you should click on "Educator Resources "which is on the top. Then you will see a title "Design a school garden",it will tell you :How to design a place, design garden program, plan for safe, raised beds , container Garden and so on .
Use this website can be easy to design your own Garden.
I wish you guys can enjoy this website.
1. What is Ecosystem?
2. Is soil a biotic factor or abiotic factor?
What did we do in class?
1. Talk about how to sign in schoology and Gizmo.
2. What is ecosystem?
-Individual: a single organism
-Population: a group of individuals of the same species in the same area.
-Community: made up of all the different populations that live in one area.
-Ecosystem: made up of a community and its abiotic environment.
-Biosphere: is a part of Earth where life exists.
3. Biotic and Abiotic
-biotic: living thing (trees bird flowers human…)
-abiotic: non-living thing (sky sun water …)
3. Is soil a biotic factor or an abiotic factor?
[We do a lab of it]
-Put 25ml soil in the bottle
-Add some water (about 3cm to 5cm)
-Mixed it by shaking it
We Found That...
There are some sand and dirt in the bottom of the bottle. And there are some roots and small stones on the top of the bottle.
I think the soil is the abiotic.
I think this week is fun and not so hard. The lab is really cool!
But at the first, there are so many words that I do not understand, but after learning it, I understand it at all.
An ecosystem is a place with lots of animals, and plants,or rocks and soil.
It includes living things, and non-living things.
"Biotic "means things that alive, and also includes things that are from alive things, like our hair.
"Abiotic "means things that aren't alive ,like water.
BIOTIC:birds, bugs, flower ,grass, tree, cats, dogs and so on.
ABIOTIC:water , stone metal, dirt,stone, sand ,plastic...
Then we went to the lab,to do a experience of dirt,to find out what is really in it.
We find out that the light things, like wood, and plastic floated on the surface of the water, and the heavy things, like sand, small pieces of rocks.was on the bottom.
It was really interesting,so this is we did.
I fell really fun about it, I really like the facts about ecosystems.
Today is lab day! So I wear foot cover shoese and go to school. After chinese class, finally it's science class! I love lab day, due to the fact that, I can go to lab and do many experiments! After little bit of basic rules, and instruction what we are going to do, we go downstair and go into lab. Humm. I feel this everytime I go to lab, however smell of lab is not very good for me. Ms. Hart say it's smell of science, but still this smell is not friendly with me. Whatever, today we are going to learn about soil. I take out soil which I brought day before yesterday. My soil is rocky and dry. first of all, I put some water in waterbottle. And I also put enough soil in waterbottle and shake it. It's looks like picture at the bottom. I wait for a few minite, and there's big change in soil water. Something are flow up to water and something is sink. I use microscope to check what are they and biotic things are floating such as grass, dead bugs, etc. And abiotic things are sink. Like sand, rock, etc. I learn new way to decide what is biotic things and abiotic things. Maybe this is not always correct, for example, sun (we cannot put sun in waterbottle). Still, It was useful information. I learn new things in science class Today.
In last week, we learned about some rules, lab safty, qualitative observations and quantitave observations. And I am trying to write about types of observations vidio. I was trying to write what we learned and 5 mins later I realized I am not a blogger;I easly found a vidio in Youtube: it was 1:13, whitch is very short, and cute drawings. There are some examples to make it easy to understand, and explains of many word. I think it is really short and simple to understand. Here's the link; https://m.youtube.com/watch?v=0g9ugQqv7PA If this doesn't work, ask me. But well I AM sure there are some probs that I cannot solve..
I finds a Webpage about what we learn in this week : “https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Observation.” The page is teaching us about Observation in science, Observational paradoxes, Observational bias, Confirmation bias. And what is Observation...... I think It can teach us more about Observation, and how to do observation. This week we learned about observation , qualitative observation and quantitive observation and we also go to the lab.the webpage that I found can let us review about what do we learned in this week and also teach us about new things . I think the page is useful .
This week we learn about qualitative observation and quantitative observation. I go on YouTube and find a very good video about what is qualitative observation and quantitative observation qualitative observation and quantitative observation. How they are different from each other. This video doesn’t have so many picture but it has lot of information in it. Its only 1min 14sec long but it has all the information we learn in class on it. This video even has what is observation in it. Olly 1min14sec you will learn lot of thing and you can use this for review. Enjoy the video. Thank you.
