Welcome Grade 6 Engineering Firms,

Get ready for an exciting journey into the world of thermal energy! In this challenge, you and your team will face the mission of designing a safe, habitat for a very special penguin.
Your task is to design and construct a penguin igloo dwelling that uses the principles of thermal energy to ensure your penguin stays safe and comfortable. Along the way, you’ll dive into hands-on experimentation, creative problem-solving, and collaboration as you create a one-of-a-kind solution for your chilly friend.
You'll need to think about insulation, materials, and shapes while working within specific constraints. Get ready to make key decisions, test ideas, and present your innovative design.
Here’s what to expect:
  • A limited space to build and a budget to stick to.
  • Working together in teams to brainstorm, build, and test your designs.
  • Documenting your journey and making improvements along the way.
  • Presenting your final solution to explain the science behind your choices.
This is your chance to apply what you know about physical science in a hands-on way. This challenge is about more than just the end result—it's about thinking critically, experimenting, and collaborating to create something truly innovative.
Are you ready to take on the challenge?
